Gail
Conforti
was a devoted nurse for 22 years who had never had a day when she
was not excited and honored to be involved with people at such an intimate
time of their life and after this career felt something was missing and
needed to connect her life to a greater purpose. She found that purpose in
yoga over the past 7 years. Gradually the physical practice of yoga was
connecting her to other paths and noticed subtle differences and
experiences that were changing her life in positive directions. In 2006
she proceeded to study yoga from Suddha Weixler at the Chicago Yoga Center
in a formal teacher training class. Gail wants to share these gifts that
she is receiving from her journey and convey to students that "we are
perfect just the way we are exactly where we are supposed to be at each
and every moment as we evolve". |

Alix
Darrow, CYT has always been curious about the mind - body relationship.
She was drawn to yoga after numerous years as a serious dancer combined
with the intense need to counteract the demands of work as a corporate
lawyer. Alix has focused primarily on Iyengar and Vinyasa Flow
traditions and received her 220 Hour Teacher Training Certification from
Rodney Yee, Colleen Saidman-Yee and Richard Rosen. While focusing
on alignment during class, Alix enjoys incorporating whatever she is
currently studying and always strives to make yoga accessible to
everyone. |

Mikie Burke Hoeh (Broniecki)
believes yoga for her was
"love at first pose". As a former spin and step instructor, yoga
transformed her definition of fit. Mikie particularly has an
interest in yoga for kids as she saw the direct emotional and physical
benefits to her own three children, one of which has the medical diagnosis
of Down syndrome. Mikie loves the nurturing environment in which
yoga allows children to cultivate a healthy mind, body and spirit.
Mikie is certified in level 1 yoga and yoga for kids through Yogafit
Training. |

Rebecca
Russell, CYT, enjoys helping her students find their well-being. Her
teaching style blends more than 12 years of yoga practice in Hatha,
Vinyasa and Iyengar. She initially pursued yoga for its physical benefits
(while rehabilitating from an injury) and soon found the balance she
needed (for a former career in corporate communications). A perpetual
student originally certified through Moksha Yoga, Rebecca is pursuing
500-RYT advanced certification with Prairie Yoga and studies as often as
she can with master teachers including Tias Little, Angela Farmer and
Gabriel Halpern. Rebecca has published in Yoga Chicago and
nationally. |

Jaci Spellman, Co-Founder, has enjoyed the practice of Vinyasa Flow Yoga, originally
inspired by Tricia Fiske and Moksha Yoga teacher training completion. As
her practice grows, she enjoys trying other styles of yoga, but always
returns to Vinyasa. "Yoga has changed my life. In the beginning Yoga
may just be physical, but as your practice becomes part of your life you
begin to learn how to focus from the inside out. I want our studio to be
an offering of space to the community for the sharing of like minds and
energy; a place to practice."
